Campeau May Not Attend Shareholder Meeting: Robert Campeau, the French Canadian financier who bought and bankrupted some of the biggest and best-known department stores in the United States, may be a no-show Monday at the annual meeting of the company he founded. Officials would not say whether the chairman will attend the embattled company’s stockholders meeting in Toronto. Campeau’s U.S. department stores--including Bloomingdale’s, Jordan Marsh and Abraham & Strauss--have been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy since January.
