Bike Whiz-In to Offer Some Older Wheels

Vintage and antique bicycles will be shown at the 13th annual Whiz-In at the Elks Lodge in Fountain Valley on Saturday and Sunday.
The event will feature a ride of vintage motorbikes Saturday and a show and swap meet Sunday.
The show will include antique and nostalgic bicycles and all types of motorized bikes. Whizzers are a motorized version of Schwinn bicycles made in 1939-52, according to event organizer Sterling Pope. An engine kit or Whizzer could be bolted on to any bike of that era.
Last year, the event attracted 65 vendors of vintage bicycles and parts. Admission is $2.
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Elks Lodge, 10480 Talbert Ave., at the San Diego Freeway in Fountain Valley. For details, call Pope at (714) 642-0783.
