BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — As if the high rough and slick greens weren’t enough, Ian Woosnam and Jim Thorpe had to battle another opponent at the PGA Championship: bees.
Both Woosnam and Thorpe were stung on the 12th hole Thursday.
A bee flew up Woosnam’s pants leg and stung him. Thorpe was lanced on the knee.
