An Escondido woman was shot in the face yesterday following an argument with a group of men gathered outside her door, police said.
Witnesses said a group of Latino males were arguing with the residents of 1851 Normandie Glen, who were inside the house. Witnesses said they overheard someone in the group mentioning money and then a single gunshot.
The bullet struck 51-year-old Kathy Lyons in the cheek and exited through her neck. The suspects had fled the scene before police arrived.
Lyons was taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment. Police said the investigation is continuing.
