Two San Diego banks were robbed within an hour Saturday in unrelated holdups, police said.
The first one was at California Federal in the 5100 block of Federal Boulevard. The suspect, described as a heavyset black male in his 30s, displayed a demand note.
The second holdup occurred at 12:30 p.m. when a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 10 inches and 140 pounds, brandished a semiautomatic handgun inside Coast Savings on 1180 Rosecrans.
Police said both men escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.
