Two Oakland men were arrested on suspicion of murder Wednesday in the shooting deaths of two young men found in Carson last week behind a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.
Sheriff’s investigators declined to give a motive for the killings, saying only that both the victims and suspects were from Oakland.
Curtis Melvin Lester and Richard Whitehurst, both 28, were arrested at a home in Compton where investigators also found “evidence linking the suspects to the victims,” said sheriff’s spokesman Gabe Ramirez.
The bodies of Derrick Turner, 22, and Tracy Bolton, 24, were found about 8:50 a.m. on Aug. 14 lying side by side in the parking lot behind the restaurant.
