The Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Fair have given the green light to a night harness racing meeting at Fairplex Park to begin in the fall after the close of the present Los Alamitos meeting.
The meeting at Pomona would begin on Oct. 26 and continue through mid-January, subject to approval of the California Horse Racing Board.
The Fairplex meet helps complete the year-round circuit in California sought by harness promoter Lloyd Arnold, co-owner of the Los Alamitos Racing Assn. “This is a very positive step toward the resurgence of harness racing here,” Arnold said.
