WESTMINSTER : Labor Day Festival to Open Tonight

Carnival rides, arts and crafts, and international music and food will be offered at the city’s first International Labor Day festival tonight through Monday.
The Westminster Harmony Showcase, a group of 50 barbershop quartet singers, starts the celebration at 6 p.m., followed later by a ‘50s and ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll group, the Popular Demand Band.
The festival also will include entertainment from Armenian, Turkish, Russian, Mexican, Vietnamese and Afro-Caribbean musicians and dancers.
The festival will be held at 8200 13th St., next to the Westminster branch of the county library. On Saturday through Monday, gates open at noon and close at 11 p.m.. Admission prices are $3 for adults and $1 for children between the ages of 6 and 10. Children 5 and younger are admitted free.
