AIR: The Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public workshop Tuesday to discuss its plan for attacking air pollution in the Los Angeles Basin. Federal officials will be available at the Baldwin Park Hilton from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
TOXICS PLANT: The State Department of Health Services on Tuesday will discuss a proposal by Chem-Clear Inc. to build a hazardous waste treatment plant in Vernon. Residents in nearby Huntington Park oppose the plant, which would be built less than a block away from homes and a school. The hearing is at 7 p.m. at Huntington Park High School Auditorium.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING: In Cerritos, where homes sell in the $300,000-plus range, the Planning Commission chairman on Thursday will present the City Council with a plan for starting affordable housing programs.
