A 16-year-old Long Beach girl was shot to death at a parking lot near Mission Bay early Sunday in what police believe was a gang-related incident.
Sovaney Onn, address unknown, was dead on arrival at Sharp Memorial Hospital at 2:41 a.m., shortly after being struck by gunfire during a shoot-out at a Ski Beach parking lot, police said.
A group of Cambodian refugees from Long Beach and San Diego had gathered in the north parking lot of Ski Beach when the shooting started, said a spokesman for the San Diego Police Department.
Authorities continued searching Sunday for a white and blue Datsun, believed to be driven by the suspects. The girl died from a gunshot wound to the head, the spokesman said.
