A 10-year-old girl, who was shot and wounded by passing gunmen as she watched television in her East Los Angeles home, was listed in serious but stable condition Sunday.
Grace Kwan was shot early Saturday evening when assailants in a passing car apparently fired three bullets into her home as she sat in the living room with her 8-year-old brother, said Sheriff’s Deputy George Ducoulombier.
The boy was uninjured, but his sister was shot in the lower back and taken to County-USC Medical Center. She underwent more than three hours of surgery early Sunday to remove the bullet and is in “serious but stable condition,” said Adelaida De La Cerda, a hospital spokeswoman.
