Fred Scifers’ letter is the most brilliant commentary on today’s so-called poetry since some fellow strung together a bunch of big words he found in a book on hymenoptera and thus won first prize in a nationwide “poetry” contest.
The average person cannot name any living poets or quote any lines from their works. Some, of course, still recall Robert Frost.
