Tekelec, a Calabasas company that makes diagnostic tools for telecommunications systems, said it appointed Thomas B. Cannon senior vice president, research and development. Cannon was previously vice president of engineering for InteCom Inc. Tekelec also named Gilles C. Godin as corporate controller and treasurer, and it promoted Philip J. Alford, chief financial officer, to the additional position of senior vice president and Robert A. Hess, director of corporate marketing, to the additional post of vice president of the corporation.
