Deputies Seek Man in Death of Roommate

Authorities on Monday were searching for a 32-year-old Monrovia man suspected of fatally stabbing his roommate during an argument outside their apartment.
Fernando Sanchez is suspected of knifing Raymond Hernandez, 32, in the chest and back at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Bill Linnemeyer. Hernandez ran to a neighbor’s home for help, then collapsed, authorities said. He died about an hour later at Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte.
The suspect was gone when officers arrived at the apartment in the 200 block of South Heliotrope Avenue. Investigators have not found the weapon, Linnemeyer said.
It was not clear why the two were arguing and authorities declined to release additional information.
