World IN BRIEF : IRAN : Cost of Iraq War Put at $1 Trillion

Iran lost $1 trillion during its 1980-88 war with Iraq, Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani said. He told a conference on reconstruction that 15 Iranian towns and 1,200 villages were destroyed, including the southern port cities of Abadan and Khorramshahr, among the most prosperous cities before the war.
