South El Monte : Quintana Pleads No Contest
- Share via
After a no-contest plea on a charge of filing a false police report, Mayor Stan Quintana has a month and a half to pay a $500 fine and to report for two days’ duty on a Caltrans freeway clean-up crew.
Quintana was sentenced Dec. 18 in Alhambra Municipal Court, on charges stemming from a traffic accident in San Gabriel, Assistant Dist. Atty. Margaret Barreto-Morehouse said. He was also placed on two years’ probation. Authorities charged that Quintana left the scene of the accident and concocted a story to police to account for damage to his car.
According to Barreto-Morehouse, Quintana has until Feb. 27 to meet his court-ordered obligations. Quintana, who faces a Feb. 5 recall election because of his support of redevelopment and other issues, could not be reached for comment.
