Every time you look over your right shoulder, there is another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-shirt. Every time you look over your left shoulder, there is another National Football League jacket or jersey.
Pacific Outlook Sportswear Inc. decided it was time to get the two of them together. The NFL/Turtles will team up to produce girl’s tops and boy’s shirts which will be sold through major department and specialty stores, the Anaheim-based company announced.
“Linking America’s most popular kid’s heroes to the heroes of the NFL is a creative way to introduce youngsters to professional football,” said Pacific Outlook Chairman Jonathan Edelstein.
The company has also licensed two other popular children’s characters. A unit of Pacific Outlook has signed up the animated characters from “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” a Saturday morning cartoon show that is a spinoff of a 1989 movie.
Bill and Ted will also start showing up on T-shirts, well in advance of a movie sequel planned for release later this year.
