L.A. Festival Finances: It will be at least April before the L.A. Festival releases a public accounting of its finances for the 1990 arts event, according to finance director Gloria Sanchez. Late last year, Sanchez said that she hoped to close the festival’s 1990 books by the beginning of January. Now she is “working” on closing the books and has arranged for an April audit by the Los Angeles firm of Deloitte & Tousche. The festival was still attempting to raise funds to pay the bills for September’s festival through Dec. 31, 1990, but both Sanchez and festival executive director Judith Luther have predicted that they will “just squeak by” when all totals are in.
