Author Isn’t Answer to Catholics’ Prayers

I’m sick and tired of newspapers, TV and movies bashing the Catholic Church. “Clashing With Her Church” (Feb. 11) should have been titled “Cashing In on Her Church.”
As for Uta Ranke-Heinemann’s remarks that she can’t understand a church that believes in the rights of the unborn but does not try to stop the war, she hasn’t been reading the press or watching the news; from the Pope down, there has been a constant flow of anti-war and peace statements including (those of) Los Angeles Archbishop Roger Mahony.
I think she should go back to Germany and write a book on the German sale of chemical weapons, components and technology of war to Iraq.
