Area Trio Named to Junior College All-State Team

Sam Crawford of Moorpark College, Lester Neal of Ventura and J. R. Rider of Antelope Valley have been named to the junior college all-state basketball team in a vote of the state’s coaches.
Neal, a 6-foot-6 center, was the leading rebounder in the state with a 14.8 average. Crawford, a 5-7 guard, led state players in assists (13.2), and Rider, a 6-5 forward, was second in the state in scoring (34.1).
Canyons’ Nick Sanderson, Valley’s Tory Stephens, Antelope Valley’s Tony Madison and Moorpark’s Damian Wilson were honorable-mention selections.
