Man Whose Wife Left Him Kills 4 Children, Self

HOUSTON — A man, distraught because his wife left him, shot and killed his four children and then himself with a .45-caliber pistol he had bought earlier in the day, police said Friday.
The semiautomatic pistol was found next to the body of the man, thought to be a native of Vietnam, who shot each of his children in the head after snapping a photograph of them with a Polaroid camera, police said.
The three girls and one boy, who ranged in age from 7 to 17, were found beneath the dinner table, where they had been sharing a meal with their father, police said.
The photograph, with the children standing in a row staring at the camera, was lying on the table.
Gonzales said police also found a receipt in the family’s apartment that showed the man had bought the gun at a Houston gun shop Thursday.
