School Bonds ‘Best News Since Cityhood’
Voters of North Diamond Bar and Phillips Ranch, get the facts straight before you vote June 4. The general obligation bond election (Proposition E) is the best news since cityhood! For the first time, we have an opportunity to actually build a high school! Yes, I know we’ve been promised a high school for years. But the empty promise was made by realtors and developers who had absolutely nothing to do with funds for any school building. We, the voters, can assure the building of a new high school by voting yes on Proposition E June 4.
When we pass Proposition E, we will reap many benefits! Property values will increase; overcrowded classrooms will be relieved as four new elementary schools will be built; all existing school sites will be renovated, and we’ll finally get the high school we so desperately need!
The funds from the obligation bond can only be used for modernization, improvements and new school buildings. These funds cannot be used for salaries or purchasing books, etc.
What will happen if Proposition E doesn’t pass? We will continue to see overcrowding in our schools and watch them deteriorate further. The budget cuts inherited from the state will not allow funds for such projects. It’s up to us, the voters.
