Robert W. O’Leary has been elected chairman and chief executive of American Medical Holdings Inc., effective July 1. The Dallas-based firm is the parent of American Medical International, which operates 41 private hospitals in the United States.
O’Leary succeeds Harry Gray, who agreed in November, 1989, to serve as chairman and chief executive until the company found a permanent replacement. Gray will remain a director and chairman of the executive committee.
Since 1989, O’Leary has been president and chief executive of Voluntary Hospitals of America Inc. VHA is an alliance of more than 650 of the largest and most prestigious hospitals in the country.
