Compton : City Council Cancels August Sessions; Next One Is Sept. 3

Next Tuesday will be the last time for more than a month that the Compton City Council holds a weekly meeting.
As they did last year, council members decided to take a summer vacation from city business. They canceled the August meeting schedule. July has five Tuesdays, and the council never meets on a fifth Tuesday when those periodically come up on the calender.
So, the next regular council meeting will be Sept. 3. City Clerk Charles Davis said that if it became necessary, the council could hold an emergency meeting in August.
