Shouldn’t Glamorize Common Thieves

Why are the criminal activities of a couple of dopey Westside head shrinkers romanticized? My taxes (and yours) are being raised in part because the owners of Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga stole their employees’ withholding and spent it on themselves (“Age-Old Problem at a New Age Restaurant,” July 16).
Stealing taxes is a felony. Tax evasion is a crime. I’m glad the IRS is kicking them when they’re down. I’d have been only too glad to kick them when they were up.
If romanticizing tax evaders is to be the “New Thing” for The Times, are we to be hit with sympathetic articles about Boesky, Keating and the drug cartels? Why not go for it all?
