Sympathy for Pee-wee: In a show of support for Pee-wee Herman actor Paul Reubens, Landmark Theatre’s Nuart in West Los Angeles will resurrect his first feature film, “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” on Friday at midnight. The 1985 film directed by Tim Burton also plays the next three Fridays at the theater. “We feel Paul Reubens has gotten a bum rap,” said Nuart manager Tom Wolfe. . . . Other people feel the same way, according to a poll due out today in Entertainment Weekly magazine. Of the 500 adults surveyed after Reubens’ arrest on suspicion of indecent exposure, nearly 40% thought the press was too tough on him and 36% said CBS was wrong to pull the last five reruns of his show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.” Less than one-third thought that Pee-wee Herman movies and TV shows should be off-limits to kids.
