San Diego State will hold its first intrasquad scrimmage this afternoon at 4 p.m. on the campus practice field.
Because of a multitude of hamstring injuries to receivers, Coach Al Luginbill said he is not expecting anybody to roll up big passing numbers.
“If we’re a well-oiled machine throwing the football, I’ll be surprised,” Luginbill said. “We’ve never had the same set of receivers since we’ve started.”
A handful of players have been ruled out by trainer Brian Barry: running back Curtis Butts (hamstring); receivers Will Tate (hamstring), Keith Williams (hamstring) and Jake Nyberg (hamstring); linebacker Jamal Duff (hamstring); tight end Marc Ziegler (knee); defensive back Michael Landry (hamstring); and center Bob Shults (knee).
