Festivities to Mark L.A.’s 210th Birthday

The colorful history of Los Angeles will come alive Sept. 2, when El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Park celebrates the 210th birthday of the city.
Festivities scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will include entertainment provided by Belvedere Junior High School’s Mariachi Olympico, Latin Jazz Ensemble and Girl’s Choir. Also featured this year will be Bill Sousa’s Teatro de Los Puppets, performing “Discovery! 1,000 Years of Hispanic Heritage,” and a puppet workshop coordinated with the Los Angeles Children’s Museum.
The program is being coordinated by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department.
