An 18-month-old Canoga Park girl was killed when she fell out of a car making a left-hand turn in Chatsworth, officials said Saturday.
The girl, Karen Maria Aragon, fell out of the car near Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Chatsworth Street at 7:20 p.m. Friday, said traffic Officer Michelle Rivera.
Karen had been sitting on the lap of another, unidentified child in the front passenger seat of a vehicle driven by her father, Richard V. Aragon, 28, Rivera said.
It was not immediately determined whether the child fell out of an open window or an open door. The girl was then hit by an oncoming car, Rivera said.
Neither the girl’s father nor the motorist in the other car was charged in the accident, Rivera said.
