OXNARD : Woman Raped After Robbery at Beach

An 18-year-old woman was raped by two men at Oxnard State Beach on Saturday night, while a third man held her boyfriend at gunpoint, police said.
The woman and her 19-year-old boyfriend were sitting at the beach at 11:30 p.m. Saturday when they were approached by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, police said.
The men robbed the couple of money, a wallet and gold necklaces, then two of them raped the woman while her boyfriend was kept at bay.
Police described the three suspects as black men in their early 2 0s. Authorities have asked for information about men seen in the area of Mandalay Beach Road and Island View Street between 9 and 10 p.m. Detectives Fred Sedillos and Ed Neitzel are investigating the case.
The beach where the attack occurred is next to Oxnard Shores and just north of the Mandalay Beach Resort. It has little or no history of violent crime, Sgt. Jeff Young said.
Police regularly patrol the beach each night, he said.
