MORE QUARTERS, PLEASE: The good news is there’ll be no net loss in the 9,772 parking spaces on the campus at UCI, whose initials are sometimes derisively translated as “Under Construction Indefinitely.” The bad news: Parking passes are going up $9 a year, to $207, in part to help pay for a new parking garage near the Bren Events Center, to be ready next fall. Students may still have to dodge construction, but at least the center ring of class buildings is largely finished, Student Activities Director Randy Lewis says.
