Catholic Policy on AIDS Programs

As a gay man and ex-Catholic (I became an ex-Catholic when I reached the age of reason), I couldn’t help but notice in the articles on the Catholic Church’s AIDS policies that one side was totally dedicated to preventing the disease and the other in treating victims after they were infected. It just seemed strange that the compassion came from the activist side and the totally unrealistic side came from the church. Chastity indeed--now if you want to talk about unrealistic, let’s talk chastity.
