Two men were killed early Sunday when their car flipped over on a desolate stretch of Pearblossom Highway in the Antelope Valley, authorities said.
The men, whose names were not released pending notification of relatives, were driving west near 263rd Street East about 3:30 a.m. when the driver swerved, causing the car to overturn, California Highway Patrol Officer Teri Dzida said.
The driver, a 38-year-old Lancaster man, and his passenger, a 38-year-old Adelanto man, were thrown from the car, Dzida said.
They were found about three hours later by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area.
No one else was injured in the crash. Dzida could not explain why the driver swerved, saying the cause of the accident was under investigation.
