OXNARD : Man, 60, Killed in Head-On Collision

An Oxnard man was killed Thursday morning when his car slammed head-on into another vehicle south of the city, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Pronounced dead at St. John’s Regional Medical Center was Paul Jay Starnes, 60.
According to the CHP, Starnes was driving a 1989 Ford sedan westbound on Hueneme Road shortly after 7 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn into Arnold Road. Starnes’ vehicle collided with an eastbound 1984 Chevrolet sedan, the CHP said.
The driver of the second car, Marcos Hernandez of Oxnard, was treated at St. John’s and released, authorities said.
