Injury report: Mater Dei’s chances of winning the Angelus League championship got a little better this week.
Not that the Monarchs (16-1) need any help, mind you, but two of the league’s top players are injured.
Loyola’s Toby Bailey, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward, is out indefinitely because of tonsillitis operation. St. John Bosco’s James Cotton, a 6-5 junior forward, will miss three weeks because of a chipped bone in his ankle.
Cotton, who is averaging 20 points per game, played sparingly Friday against Esperanza and is questionable for this Friday’s game against the Monarchs.
