Vista 79, Fallbrook 62--After scoring only eight points in the first quarter, Vista broke Fallbrook’s press in the second quarter and scored 33 points in those eight minutes. Nils Michals had 12 of his 19 points in the second quarter for Vista (11-5, 5-0) and teammate Shane Jager finished with 20. For Fallbrook (11-6, 1-4), Chris Miller poured in 21, but was disqualified with 4:42 remaining after receiving a second technical for delay of game. Each time Miller scored on a layup, he grabbed the ball as it slipped through the net, keeping Vista from quickly inbounding it. He was warned during the game before being assessed the technicals.

San Dieguito 56, Rancho Buena Vista 53--Craig Vilhauer sank five three-pointers and scored 26 points and David Demian added 15 points for San Dieguito (9-8, 2-3). Evan Osmundson led RBV (7-12, 0-5).

El Camino 72, San Pasqual 36--El Camino (11-5, 4-1) doubled San Psqual’s output despite having only two players score in double figures. Mike Booker and Tyrone Butler scored 10 each. No one for San Pasqual (6-10, 3-2) reached double figures.

Escondido 60, Ramona 55--Quoc Hunyh scored a game-high 23 points, including seven of eight free throws down the stretch for Escondido (6-8, 1-4).

Rancho Bernardo 65, San Marcos 54--Rancho Bernardo (11-5, 4-1) used 24 steals (six by Bill McMahon, five by Kirk Hipple) to remain in a second place tie with El Camino. Mike Ruff led RB with a season-high 18 points, Hipple added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Horace Corey led San Marcos (4-9, 1-4) with 16 points.

Carlsbad 53, Oceanside 50--Ryan Demirdjian hit four free throws in the final 30 seconds to lift Carlsbad (11-6, 5-0) past Oceanside (5-10, 1-4).

Sweetwater 69, Chula Vista 67--After starting the final quarter trailing by seven, Chula Vista finally tied it at 67 with eight seconds remaining on a layup from Lamar Bailey. Bailey, who scored after Jerome Green stole a pass, completed a seven-point run. David McVey, who finished with 15, scored the first five.

But after Bailey tied it, Sweetwater got the ball to Tom Keough, who got through Sweetwater’s press for the winning layup. Brandon Tennant led Sweetwater (7-11, 5-1) with 21 points and 16 rebounds as it overtook Chula Vista (11-8, 4-2) for first place.

Southwest 73, Castle Park 67--Junior forward Tony Diaz scored 21 of his career high 30 points in the first half to lead Southwest (8-8, 4-2).

Bonita Vista 88, Montgomery 49--Bonita Vista improved to 9-6, 4-1 behind a 17-point effort by Gerald Rhoden. Montgomery fell to 4-11, 1-5.
