Heavyweight contender Riddick Bowe (28-0) has been forced to withdraw from a Feb. 1 fight against Jose Ribalta at Las Vegas after being poked in the eye while sparring. A doctor recommended that Bowe not fight for at least three weeks. Bowe hoped to use the fight as a tuneup for a possible bout with Evander Holyfield.
