City Architecture

Dirk Sutro’s Jan. 16 article (“Budget Puts Pall on City Design Job”) alerts everyone to the possibility of ending the office of city architect. The office of city architect is a must if we want to become anything more than a mediocre city with a mediocre design. A walk downtown or a drive on Interstate 15 will illustrate the years of building with no thought of good planning and good design.
