RUN THE GAMETE: With student fees on the increase, UC Irvine’s student-run newspaper has raised a novel way for students to earn extra money: sell their sperm and eggs. Santa Ana’s Sperm Bank Inc. and the UCI/Saddleback Center for Reproductive Health do pay qualified donors. But the center’s Nancy Walker says student donors must be motivated by more than money. . . . “They must have altruistic reasons, or they likely won’t pass the psychological tests,” she says.
