Outfielder Ellis Burks and the Boston Red Sox agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.3 million, an increase of $475,000.
Burks, who was scheduled for an arbitration hearing Friday in New York, can make another $170,000 in performance bonuses: $55,000 each for 125 and 135 games and $60,000 for 145 games.
