A $953,000 contract has been awarded for expansion of Hawaiian Gardens City Hall and construction of a senior citizens center as an addition to the existing community center. The project, which will be done by Adams Mallory Construction Co. of Placentia, is to be completed in seven months.
Plans call for a 6,000-square-foot senior facility that will include a large activities room, two smaller meeting rooms, two offices for social and community services programs, and a game room. There also will be a fenced garden area.
The 4,000-square-foot City Hall expansion, on the north end of the building, will be used for planning, building and safety, code enforcement and community development services.
