A Ventura bank was robbed Wednesday for the second time in less than four months, authorities said.
An unidentified man presented a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 100 block of South Chestnut Street with a demand note and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, said Gary Auer, head of the FBI’s Ventura office. The suspect, who fled on foot, never showed a weapon in the 11 a.m. incident, Auer said.
Gilbert Theodore Soto Jr. of Ventura is being held in Ventura County Jail in connection with a similar robbery at the same bank on Dec. 4, Auer said.
Soto, 36, was indicted on Jan. 14, Auer said.
