IRVINE : Head Blows Killed 2 Found in Field

A man found in an orange grove was killed in the same manner as a woman found slain on the same property a week ago: blunt force trauma to the head, a sheriff’s spokesman said Wednesday.
Both victims remained unidentified Wednesday, and Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said there is no evidence the slayings are related.
The man, found Tuesday about half a mile from where the woman was found March 26, died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck. The woman died of a blunt force trauma to the head, officials said.
He is described as a Latino, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet, 9 1/2 inches tall and weighing 184 pounds. He has a mustache and a one-inch vertical scar on his left cheek, authorities said. The man was clothed in a long-sleeve shirt, black denim jeans and black zippered boots, officials said.
The woman is described as white, between 18 and 24 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds. She was wearing a white, short-sleeve T-shirt, blue floral-print baggy pants with a drawstring and a pair of navy blue shorts.
The bodies were discovered in an orange grove off Sand Canyon Avenue near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.
