A 17-year-old Westlake youth driving a friend’s pickup truck home from an auto repair shop Saturday was struck by another car, causing the truck to overturn and back up traffic for two miles on the Ventura Freeway.
Mark Baukus said the accident occurred near Del Norte Boulevard shortly after he had picked up his friend’s truck, which had been fitted with a new engine.
After the truck was hit, Baukus said he lost control of the vehicle and it flipped and skidded into the guardrail.
The name of the other driver was not available, the California Highway Patrol reported.
No one was injured, the CHP said.
