Sheriff’s Deputy Jesus Anguiano of Temple Station was named South El Monte Deputy of the Year.
Mayor Jim Kelly presented a plaque acknowledging Anguiano’s nearly three years of service in South El Monte. Anguiano was cited for being among the top deputies in drunk driving arrests and overall traffic citations. Anguiano said the award represents the efforts of all the deputies at Temple Station.
Anguiano, 31, was raised in East Los Angeles and attended Salesian High School and East Los Angeles College. The eight-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department lives in West Covina with his wife, Elia, and their daughter, Amanda, 1 1/2.
