SANTA CLARITA : College Board Gets New President

College of the Canyons Trustee Linda Cubbage has replaced Dick Peoples as president of the five-member board after Peoples resigned the post to concentrate on his job as a supervisor at Rockwell International.
Peoples, however, will remain on the board and take Cubbage’s position as vice president, the board of trustees decided Wednesday night.
Cubbage will complete the seven months remaining on Peoples’ one-year term as president. Peoples, a college trustee for nine years, said he submitted a letter of resignation April 29.
Peoples, 57, said he resigned as president because he could not invest enough time on his duties at the college. “I’ve had a tremendous workload, and I don’t have the time to do justice to the job,” he said.
