Capital Cities/ABC Confirms Cable Interest: Chief Executive Daniel Burke acknowledged that the company has held talks about buying a minority stake in Providence, R.I.-based cable TV operator Continental Cablevision Corp. Burke said the company was cautious about making an investment in cable, however, until the Federal Communications Commission finished a review of rules that would lift a ban on cable/network cross-ownership. If the rules are lifted, he said Capital Cities/ABC would limit its cable investment to 10% national penetration to placate affiliates.
