Auburn hired Mike Lude, Blockbuster Bowl director, as the university’s athletic director. Lude, former athletic director at the University of Washington, takes over a troubled department; the men’s basketball and tennis programs are on probation, and the NCAA is investigating allegations that football players were paid by assistant coaches and alumni.
