San Diego : Boy on Bike Struck and Killed by Van

An 11-year-old boy was killed Friday morning when the bike he was riding was struck by a van in the 9900 block of Carmel Mountain Road, authorities said.
Derek Allan Alfaro of San Diego was hit at 11:40 a.m., county medical examiner’s investigator George Dickason said.
He was taken by Lifeflight to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:36 p.m., Dickason said.
