Thrifty Selling Pay’n Save Assets to Payless: Payless Drug Stores has signed an agreement to purchase the assets of the 124-store Pay’n Save chain from Thrifty Corp. The acquisition price was not disclosed. Payless, based in Wilsonville, Ore., had signed a letter of intent to purchase the Pay’n Save assets in May. The Pay’n Save stores are located in the states of Washington, Hawaii, Alaska and Idaho. Thrifty is a subsidiary of the Los Angeles-based Pacific Enterprises.
